While on their training cruise on the Yorktown, cadets Uhura and McCoy beam down to a strange planet on a mission for their xenobiology class.
They observe the local lifeforms.
McCoy takes some reading on the indigenous yam-based lifeforms, while Uhura secures the perimeter.
Suddenly, a yam tentacle lashes out!
McCoy must flee for his life!
Uhura runs to his rescue.
McCoy catches his breath in the safety of the underbrush, while Uhura subdues the yam-being.
